Fitzroy’s exploration properties are Caballos, in Valparaiso, Chile; Taquetren, in Rio Negro, Argentina; and Cariboo, in British Columbia, Canada.
Caballos is a copper project that was previously advanced by Vale, among others. Caballos is in a part of Chile that remains relatively under-explored. The project is south of Antofagasta's 36 million tonne contained copper Los Pelambres Mine and north of Anglo American's 44 million tonne contained copper Los Bronces Mine. Together these two mines make up ~ 3% of global copper production.
Taquetren is a greenfields gold discovery made by the Fitzroy team. The Rio Negro region is under-explored and supportive of mineral projects.
